I never learned how to eat with my hands. Of course crabs have to be eaten with hands but I use spoon and fork for the rice and vegetables.
I once had a dining companion (in Zamboanga City) who ate everything with her hands including a soupy dish. Her right arm, from her fingers down to her elbow, was dripping the whole time.:)

Good job! I was born in the Philippines so I know how to eat with my hands. Though not often, I still do this nowadays. My white hubby used to look at me funny, but he’s used to it after 12 years
You know what else would be a great topic? eating with a spoon and fork. White folks use a fork and a knife.
Eating with a spoon and a fork is something that my inlaws excpect of me nowadays.
I’ve taught my husband how to use a spoon, but he’s not taken to it just yet.
