Philippines on ‘No Reservations’
Tonight at 10pm EST chef/writer/tv show host Tony Bourdain goes to the Philippines in his show No Reservations on the Travel Channel. This looks to be an excellent show and I’m excited to see it. I am hoping that Tony does Filipino food justice and not the disaster that Andrew Zimmern showed in his show Bizarre Foods.

I was so mad when I watched Andrew Zimmern’s visit to the Philippines.I can’t believe he can eat worms and rotting meat, but have a problem with ice cream being served in a bun. That’s good stuff!
*calms down*
Hopefully, Tony can do it justice.

I didn’t see this episode but he did a show on Colombia. I told my parents who taped it. We all thought he did a great job with the show. He spoke a lot about the pride people have towards their country and how it was getting better. I thought he combined the food and culture in together very well.

This is one of the best exposures for Filipino Food towards the world. I haven’t seen it yet; though, maybe it can be available on the internet somewhere.. Nice to see someone of that stature actually visit local places to document with authenticity..
-Enjoy your Filipino Food cooking-

I just saw the episode again with a mexican friend of mine and I just have to say that I was a little disappointed. Everyone just kept serving him sinigang. I mean, sinigang is one of my favorite dishes, but filipino cuisine has so much more to offer. What about Kare Kare? or the stuffed grilled squid… or.. DINOGUAN? *sigh* It still made me hungry though =]
